The Kids Room, Part ONE

This is a blank wall... yes I know I took a photo of a blank wall...
it was supposed to be the BEFORE photo of the kids room, but
I forgot to take a photo of before so I went into the living room and
took a before picture of the blank wall so you can see what the before was...a blank wall....

This is the first layer, the stems/leaves of the flowers....

Ok, it is now done........cute huh!! I purchased two sets in two different sizes so I cut them up
individually and applied them in a rather random pattern...

This is just a close up pic.....

That is Joyelle "talking" on the phone and to show your the size of the flower border....

Ok, hope you enjoyed the newest addition to the kids room, yes this is a boy/girl room, but our son actually liked the flower garden and he has more appropriate boy expressions for his area of the room......

Living Room-some progress

Our living room.... was painted a grey DEARY blue and my dh always said it was a color
that "makes me puke in my mouth" I know gross!!! He said it not me...
Anyways that was one of the first things we wanted to change and here he is
starting the color change....we went to Sherman Williams and picked out a lovely
Cottage Cream color (that is what we are going for in our home an Alaskan Cottage)
and he got started that day.... though the pics below are him painting the blue
ceiling into a white ceiling....

Here is before picture of the living room....the star tieback and couch are staying the
rest is changing.... now the paint doesn't look too bad in the pictures, but you have
to trust us it was just dreary!! it basically matches the color of the sky on a cloudy day..

We are hoping to finish it today and tomorrow so will post the new living room and colors soon!

Inspiration

Hi,
My name is Fawn and I have decided to start my own blog....Why?? One reason is I have been checking out others blogs and LOVING them and I just watched Julie and Julia. I also just bought my first home with my husband and 3 kids. It is a beautiful home, but needs a bit of love and lots of finish work. I thought it would be fun to document my life and our remodeling in a blog. For all my friends far away from us and for my new friends. I will be posting photos of the house, kids, and just life in general. So enjoy from Snowy Alaska..The Copper Tree Home
